Even orchids can be found in the Preserve. Here is a Jack in the Pulpit. A wild geranium, a popular plant  that can be found along the trails. Tonquish creek in the summer time.
This pond in the Cowan/Central City section of the Preserve has been home to herons for the past two years. The nests are just visible in the distance. HNPA members cut honeysuckle, an invasive plant that threatens to crowd out native plants and flowers.  One of the trails in the Cowan/Central City section of the Preserve runs along a portion of Tonquish creek.
